The Maserati GranTurismo was first unveiled in 2007 at the Geneva Motor Show. The Maserati is always considered one of the most sought after cars, often the dream car for many young people. The car is striking as soon as a person sees it. The astonishment factor that the car gives people is even before they know what is under the hood. Basically, the company wanted a car that screamed luxury, but while still being sporty. This two door car fits the bill exactly.
To get the GranTurismo into reality, there are many design concepts that went into the car. They utilized past Maseratis in order to get the idea of what they were wanting, and with combining the Pininfarina technology the concept was born. However, this look also applied to the interior of the car. The GranTurismo has an interior that is roomy and well thought out, which is something that most consumers love about the car. Even though it is a two door, the backseat is still roomy enough for people to sit, which is not normal when looking at other two door sports cars. However, one for the most common complaints is that the seats are a bit stiff.
The GranTurismo is a bit heavier than other cars, which means that speed is somewhat affected. However, most people agree that the impact is not much and it does not interfere with the overall feeling towards the car. The current model for the GranTurismo is available in a 4.2 liter V8 engine trim that gets around 405 horsepower. The GranTurismo S utilizes a 4.7 liter, V8 engine that gets around 433 horsepower. The S model is the more sportier version of the GranTurismo and the package includes twenty inch alloy wheels, sport tuned suspension, as well as a sporty exhaust. The S version can go from zero to sixty in 4.8 seconds. Though the taking off power may not be as good as competitors, once the GranTurismo gets rolling, it can compete with the best of them.
The standard features on the GranTurismo are slim, which leaves many to wonder why the car does cost so much. However, the extras are what this car is all about. Many professionals have noted that the special options that are available to buyers will make any car enthusiasts head spin with the choices. One of the most odd choices that is included is the option to have brake calipers painted one out of five possible color choices. It is definitely a way to make your car stand out against the crowd, however the GranTurismo does that job pretty well on its own. I personally prefer the GranTurismo Convertible — by far the sexiest one in the range…
Those who are interested in purchasing a GranTurismo should have their wallets ready, as you will pay way of $100,000 for the car. However, once you start ordering those special options, you can look at almost double what the basic model will cost a person. Though many view ordering one of these cars as a way to go a little crazy and get exactly what you are wanting since you are already paying such a high price.

Looking back on this post, I know one thing: I still love the convertible, and I still think the car is quite expensive, especially when compared to let’s say the value you get with an Aston V8 Vantage.
